why
For more than a decade, we built Homerun, hiring software used by companies around the world.
It gave us a rare, close-up view of how thousands of companies grow: how they find people, welcome them, and build teams worth being part of.
The lesson that stayed with us was a quiet one. Hiring someone is just the first hello.
Everything after it is also looking after people: a contract, a first day, a request for time off, a quiet word when someone is struggling. Bigger companies have whole departments and expensive systems for that part.
Smaller companies, who care every bit as much, were left holding it together with spreadsheets and good intentions, because every tool built for the job assumed they were big.
We took everything those years had taught us and pointed it somewhere new: one warm, simple place for a smaller company to look after its people, from hiring to everything that comes after.
Simple enough that you never have to become an HR expert. Priced so that caring for your team is never the thing you can’t afford.
We build Heartsome independently, with no investors to please. That is deliberate.
It keeps us answerable to the people who use it and no one else, it is why the price is honest, and it is why nothing good is ever locked behind a higher tier.
It is also why Heartsome is free for mission-driven non-profits. Organisations doing work that matters shouldn’t spend their budget on software. We would rather they spend it on the mission.
That’s the why. Wherever you’re starting from, we’d love to help you look after your people, and we’re glad you’re here.

Enough about us. The best way to judge whether we understand your world is to see what we built for it.
